Deconstructing Sauvignon Blanc in Jozi!
Thanks to the wonderful group of keen wine drinkers who descended on Campbell House on Wednesday night. We went through a great selection of wine from Agulhas, Hermanus , Elgin, Helderberg, Constantia, Stellenbosch and way out of the way to the Piekenierskloof! Wines tasted included:
- Quoin Rock Agulhas Sauvignon Blanc
- Bouchard Finlayson Walker Bay Sauvignon Blanc
- Southern Right Sauvignon Blanc
- Iona Sauvignon Blanc
- Steenberg Sauvignon Blanc
- Ingwe Reserve Sauvignon Blanc
- Tierhoek Sauvignon Blanc
It was a fascinating journey from the crisper and leaner cooler climate wines to the full bodied Stellenbosch options and then a little something inbetween from Tierhoek, which proved to be the most popular on the night (check out the video interview with the winemaker here). The picture below shows the group toasting great Sauvignon Blanc in South Africa!
