Guest blog | Under the Influence of Italy with Derivco

James (the distinguished gent with a ‘tache) takes us through the Marco Paulo evening:
The Derivco wine tasting evening took place at Marco Paulo. There was a good response from the wine tasters of Derivco and we ended up with a record 38 people for this event.
The weather decided to mimic a Cape Town winter to welcome our host Allister from Cape Town. Allister, please take the rain back to Cape Town we have had enough!!!
The evening was designed around an Italian experience.
And no we didn’t grease our hair back (except Greg Q)

Nor did we have ridiculous
moustaches (wait a minute it was Movember)
But rather we tried to experience the wines and flavours of Italy.

Thank you to Marco and Allister who educated us on the flavours of Italy. I will remember never to have an cappuccino after the meal, but rather an espresso and the huge variety of grapes that exist in this region (over 1000). Thank you to Paul for the use of the restaurant.
And finally a thank you to all of those who joined in the fun, I hope to see you at the next event that will get organised for the new year (alw

ays looking for ideas, so feel free to share).
