Guests are welcomed at the Roundhouse restaurant, one of the oldest heritage sites in the Cape, and transported for a special wine tasting experience at Klein Constantia, home of the famous Vin De Constance. Guests are then taken to Steenberg, to enjoy a cellar tour conducted by the wine maker and wines to accompany a lunch at Catharina’s. The last stop is Cape Point Vineyards, home of some of the most difficult to source Sauvignon Blanc and white blends in the country. Duncan Savage will take us through an intimate vineyard and tasting experience. Not only is this is a rich heritage route, with incredible wines, but it offers beautiful scenery of the Cape of Storms.

This tour explores the rich and diverse Overberg region which stretches from the mountain tops of Elgin to the valleys of the Hemel en Aarde (Heaven and Earth), just next to Hermanus.

The first stop for Guests is at the renowned Paul Cluver Estate, a beautiful property on the slopes of the Groenland mountain, which makes beautiful Chardonnay, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and the acclaimed 7 Flags Pinot Noir. One of the Cluver family will show us around the cellar, the vineyards and give a background to this family run property.

We then move down the mountain and into the Hemel en Aarde Valley to enjoy a picnic lunch at Hamilton Russell Vineyards, a beautiful property and a superb producer of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Our last stop of the day will be the mountain top vineyards of Iona, on the mountain slopes separating the Elgin Valley and the steep drop off to the Indian Ocean at the Arabella Golf Estate.

This tour is all about exploring the cooler climate wines that South Africa has to offer, where restraint and complexity marry the traditional intensity of flavour that South African wines are known for.
