The Lammershoek Roulette Blanc is a huge favourite at Under the Influence. The wine is showing off the new Mediterranean style blends, which have taken off in the Swartland region. This is a blend of 62% Shiraz, 20% Carignan, 13% Grenache, 4% Mourvedre, 1% Viognier and it is wonderfully complex, rich and elegant all at the same time. Filled with red fruit, herbaciousness and a hint of spice, it is a wine for all occasions.

The Lammershoek Roulette Blanc made a very big impression on us and our fellow tasters at Under the Influence tasters this year. It is a big white wine, full of fruit, and a honey and citrus aroma. What makes it a beauty, however, is its mineral and fresh finish, creating sublime balance in the wine. This wine can only get better as it settles in the bottle.

Lammershoek reminds us of a small town, far away from anything, that is going about its business, but doesn’t realise there is a string of gold under the earth! For one, the farm is situated just next door to renowned winemaker Eben Sadie, so it is a given that their Voor Perdeberg terroir is exceptional.
But, the proof is in the glass and the wines are truly superb. We hope that the First Growths helps put this Estate on the map as the Kretzel family have put in the hard work to get an understanding of their soil and climate, coaxing the very best out of the vineyards. As big names like Adi Banderhorst move into the area, the wines from the Perdeberg, near Malmesbury, can only go from strength to strength.
